The Sahana Malla Programme, a special initiative organized by the Centre for Environmental and Sustainable Development (CESSD) of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) to support the cleaning service staff who work tirelessly to keep our surroundings clean and hygienic.

As a part of the Sahana Malla Programme, we recently launched a special initiative to provide groceries to the cleaning service staff. We understand that many of the cleaning service staff work on a daily wage basis and are facing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative aims to provide support to the cleaning service staff and their families, ensuring that they have access to essential groceries and household items.

We are grateful to all the contributors who supported this initiative, including the faculty members, staff, and students of OUSL. Their contributions have enabled us to provide essential groceries to the cleaning service staff, supporting them during these challenging times.

We are pleased to report that the initiative has been a success, and we have been able to distribute groceries to all cleaning service staff across the university. The groceries provided include rice, sugar, lentils, and other essential items, ensuring that the cleaning service staff have access to a balanced and nutritious diet.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the contributors who supported this initiative. Your generosity and kindness have made a significant difference in the lives of the cleaning service staff and their families. We would also like to thank the cleaning service staff for their hard work and dedication, which is essential in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for all of us.
